Youth today are facing sexual pressures that are greater than those of any previous generations. The BRAVEheart Teen Initiative Program believes that with the right tools, every teen has the ability to make wise decisions towards a healthy future.
Join us as we celebrate our acheivements and the success of so many strong willed youth in the community.
PURITY DAY will be held at Mary Ross Waterfront Park on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The games start at 10:00am sharp. Please be sure to register your team or booth by Tuesday, May 6.

Purity Day
Because our program has been so successful and because we feel so passionately about our cause, we feel the need to celebrate!
PURITY DAY was first held on May 1, 1999 in the small parking lot of BRAVEheart’s first office building. The Mayor of Brunswick issued a Proclamation from the city to declare PURITY DAY in our community. We continue to carry on this tradition.
The purpose of the day is to provide teens, parents, and the community with an event where they may come together and enjoy a day of family fun.
Festivities will include large inflatables, relay races/games, entertainment, a talent show, food, refreshments, and giveaways. Not to mention enough cotton candy to last a year.
In previous years, hundreds of people have come out to show their enthusiasm and support. Community youth and church youth groups are invited to come and participate in team competitions which include:
- Sack Races
- Tug-O-War
- Pie Eating Contest
- Three Legged Race
- Team Relay
Those participating in any of the events will receive a free t-shirt! There will also be some great t-shirts for sale. |

Background
BRAVEheart Teen Initiative was founded in 1998 as the prevention branch of the local Care Net Pregnancy Center. A non-profit Christian organization that promotes an abstinent lifestyle to reduce the risks of unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, and emotional instability.
Every month over 500 youth and teens are presented with a high-energy abstinence program. We see, first hand, the need for guidance and leadership in the lives of teens. Many teens are enduring the consequences of high-risk behavior.
BRAVEheart uses teen participation in the areas of mentoring, drama presentations, and school clubs to encourage today’s youth and single adults to make healthy decisions regarding their sexuality.
The true challenge is the pie-eating contest. This is NOT for wimps! |
