BRAVEheart Teen Initiative is a non-profit Christian organization
that promotes an abstinent lifestyle to reduce the risks of unwanted
pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, and emotional trauma.
BRAVEheart uses the participation of
teens and young adults in the form of teams
to encourage today's youth and single adults to make healthy decisions
in regard to their sexuality.
BRAVEheart is funded by a grant from
the Governor's Children and Youth Coordinating Council and
from its parent organization, Care Net Pregnancy Center of Coastal
Georgia, Inc.
We are a Christian organization but
are not affiliated with any one denomination.

History
In the mid 90's, Patrick Eades, Executive
Director of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Coastal Georgia, Inc.
(CPC), saw a huge need in our community. He was made humbly aware
that many of the clients that came into CPC were sexually active as
teens. Some told counselors at CPC that they wished someone would
have given them the information and encouragement they needed in order
to stay sexually pure before marriage. To Patrick, this was a call
to action.
In response, Patrick started BRAVEheart
in the Fall of 1996. He began speaking to schools, churches, and community
groups about sexual purity. This was so effective that teens began
taking stands against premarital sex and wanted to know how they could
let others know of the benefits of abstinence.
To give these teens a medium for conveying
the message, Patrick founded BRAVEheart Teen Initiative of Glynn County
in the Summer of 1998 and followed with Wayne County in Summer of
2001.

Jessica Loggins
Braveheart Director - Brunswick
Jessica became involved as one of the first BRAVEheart teens in 1998. She was highly active in the Drama Team writing and performing skits and on the Leadership Corp. helping to make decisions for the future of the BRAVEheart movement. Outside of BRAVEheart Jessica was involved with Happenings in Georgia, she was on the Leadership Team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, led a young girls 7:07 study for The Gathering Place, and co-led the youth group at her church.
In 2001, Jessica left the BRAVEheart program to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Family Studies at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. She returned to BRAVEheart the summer of 2004 for an internship and knew then that God was using the program to call her back to teen ministry. In 2005, after graduating with her degree, Jessica said, “it would be perfect if I could just go back and lead BRAVEheart”, but there was no need at that time. In the last weeks of 2006, God opened a door, and Jessica took the reins and kicked off 2007 as the Program Director at BRAVEheart.
